Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Fundamental Foundations Counseling Center, PLLC is a self-pay “Out-of-Network” practice, meaning we do not accept any insurances at this time.  You may use HSA/FSA cards to cover any expenses and cost for services.  We also accept, cash, check, credit card, and Care Credit.

How do I utilize my Out-Of-Network benefits?

If you are an individual or family with a PPO plan, we can provide you (the client) with a superbill upon request, which you can turn in to your insurance provider. Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, some services may be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

If you’d like to determine your benefits, these are a few questions you can ask your insurance provider:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Does my plan have Out-Of-Network benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit the amount of sessions I can have in a calendar year? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician for services to be covered?

A formal diagnosis may be required to apply for reimbursement. Moreover, your insurance company may also ask for your therapy records.

How do I know if counseling is right for me?

Counseling is good for the soul, mind, body, and spirit.  Having a healthy support system that includes counseling can serve as a protective factor from stress.  It may be used as a resource to recover or serve as a safe place to harness resilience in the midst of peaceful times.  In short, counseling is right for anyone who wants and needs it.  If you are looking to feel better, improve your quality of life and experience more fulfilling relationships with friends, family members, spouses and others, we would love to support you on your journey!

I’m uncertain if counseling will help my particular situation, how do I decide?

Meeting with a counselor can benefit individuals or family units who feel stuck, uncertain, unhappy, frustrated, lost, confused, concerned, worried, pressured, or overwhelmed. If you feel unsure about entering counseling, please call us to briefly discuss your specific situation, to find out if we are the right place for you.  In our experience counseling does help most people get through difficult or transitory periods in their life.

How long does a typical session last?

This will depend on your personal needs and preferences. Most sessions are 50 minutes long.  However, the counseling assessment will help us determine the level of care we will need to offer that will be the most beneficial to you.  As a concierge practice, we have the bandwith to offer you the care you need when you need it most.
