FFC Center’s Response to COVID-19

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact America and our local community, many things are changing. One thing that does not change is The FFC Center’s commitment to you. We will continue to do everything we can to help our clients continue to receive counseling support. To that end, I wanted to share the following information with you:

  • Our office building maintenance team has ramped up cleaning services in both of our locations by adding hand sanitizer at the front entrances and in our offices. Cleaning crews are present during the mid-day and evening cleaning using hospital-grade cleaners to clean touchable surfaces, including tables, counters, sink tops, bathroom fixtures, door handles, doorknobs, push bars and handrails, push plates and elevator call buttons.
  • We are closely following the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines and recommendations on the steps we can take to help prevent the spread of the virus. We have shared specific instructions with our team members on the importance of washing their hands and staying home if they feel sick or are returning from an area of the world identified as posing a coronavirus-related risk. We have also eliminated handshaking for the time being as an added precaution.
  • Per CDC recommendations, we will ask team members who have traveled to such locations or have been exposed to others who have traveled to such locations to self-quarantine for 14 days. We ask that you, as our clients follow these guidelines in both of our locations.  Again, our goal is to do what we can to help prevent the spread of the illness.

Services

  • Our office will remain open with its normal hours of operation 9 am to 5 pm CST on weekdays, to provide assistance with general support questions or inquiries about our services.  You may call or text us at 214-475-0345.

  • We also will be offering Telehealth Sessions as an added measure to ensure you are able to continue to receive services in a convenient way during this time.  Some insurance companies are offering specialized provisions to cover telehealth support during this emergency period.  It is important to check with your insurance provider first to see if this option is available to you
  •  Connect with one of our licensed therapists by calling our office, booking an online appointment, or texting your request for support to 214-475-0345

Stressful situations cause each of us to respond in different ways.  It is not uncommon to experience distress or a shift in your emotions due to the social and economic circumstances that are impacting our community.  It is also not uncommon to become more distressed as repeated images or repetitive reports are heard about the outbreak in the media.

According to the CDC, reactions during an infectious disease outbreak can include:

  • Fear and worry about your own health status and that of your loved ones who may have been exposed to COVID-19
  • Changes in sleep or eating patterns
  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating
  • Worsening of chronic health problems
  • Increased use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that people with preexisting mental health conditions should continue with their treatment plans during an emergency and monitor for any new symptoms.  For more information about the coronavirus, coping, stress management and tips on maintaining your mental health click here .

The coronavirus is something that everyone should take seriously. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and follow all health recommendations.  The best ways to combat it are by being informed and proactive.  We will continue to keep you updated with information that can be helpful. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at The FFC Center if we can be of assistance.

Wishing you and your family good health!
