This Group MEETS in McKinney on 1st Fridays of the Month @ 6401 Eldorado Parkway, McKinney, TX
Suicide attempts happen every day. This crisis not only affects the person who attempted suicide, but the family members and friends who love and support that person as well. Family members find themselves in a state of helplessness, confusion, and crisis themselves following the loved one’s attempt, but sometimes do not have the space or opportunity to discuss their own thoughts and feelings. You might be asking yourself,“What do I do from here? How should I handle myself around my loved one?” You may be experiencing feelings of guilt that you did not see any signs or prevent the attempt itself; or perhaps you are unsure of how to talk to that person. You might also be feeling at a loss as to what your next steps are.
The Live Another Day Group was designed for the family members of persons who have attempted suicide and need a space to clear their minds and hearts as well as find support from those experiencing a similar situation. We will talk about your experiences, reactions, feelings, and answer questions in a caring, sensitive, and supportive forum. We will offer coping stratigies for you as a family member as you process this crisis and support your loved one. Too often, the victims of suicide attempts are not the only ones who need hope and support to “live another day.”
